A catalogue organised by what it protects, not by brand
A category bought on protection and fit. Navigation is built on body part and gear type, with the accessory long tail underneath.
- 7 main groups
- Body-part categories
- 3 types
- Helmet types
- Long tail
- Accessory catalogue
Situation
The customer knows what they need: a CE-rated jacket, a modular helmet, heated gloves.
Their frustration is that stores organise the catalogue by brand instead of by what protects which part of the body.
Approach
The store is built on body-part and gear-type navigation: helmets, jackets, gloves, trousers, boots, protectors, rainwear.
Below that, a second split by gender and helmet type, then the long tail this category sells on: chain lube, visor cleaner, microfibre, balaclavas.
CE certification, current season and instalment payment sit in the header and hero rather than buried in product copy.
Result
A returning customer jumps straight to their section from the homepage category strip.
The three facts that decide the purchase are visible on the first screen.
